Sekken has had a great cultural life for a long time, with a lot of activity in relation to the size of our population.
Sekken has one of the country's oldest shooting teams with young and adult members still active. Sekken Youth Team is also one of the country's oldest. It was founded in 1895 by "young people of all ages", and the Youth House was built on a voluntary basis in 1905. Later on, health teams, sports teams, a 4H club, a museum team, an action committee, welfare association, community team, an equestrian club, four-air life club and our small boat association came into being and have been active all along. Sekken Skolekorps, our marching band, has been active since 1979 and gathered the local community together in well-being and development through music and joy.
We are involved in organized activities that present concerts, meetings, parties, trips, sports events and other cultural offerings in large and small groups. The word "culture" comes from "cultivate." The possibilities are many. Sekken has plenty of space and is a good place for outdoor life at sea and on land.
